Music and Moonlight, the Overlook Hospital Centennial Gala    

On Saturday, October 14, 2006 1,100 guests gathered to celebrate Overlook's 100 years in grand style. The Music and Moonlight Centennial gala, graciously chaired by Overlook Trustee Janet Sherlund, was held on the grounds of the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. All proceeds from the event benefited the Cancer Center at Overlook Hospital.This special affair featured a silent auction with 100 exciting items ranging from internships at Couture Fashion Houses, Superbowl experience packages, dazzling one-of-a-kind jewelry, exclusive golf trips to play premier private courses in Ireland and Scotland, and vacations galore. The auction, a first for the Overlook Hospital Foundation, raised over $200,000 for the Cancer Center.

Guests perused the items up for bid as they enjoyed hors'deovres and cocktails prepared by Laurence Craig Distinctive Celebrations. They were welcomed into the main dining pavilion by Chez Vito, a talented fleet of violinists, as they were transported by the exquisite and warm floral designs of Jim Opie of the Emerald Garden. Warm up lights of amber and violet saturated the walls of the tent and the guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal prepared and expertly served by Laurence Craig.

Bonnie Raitt then took the stage and brought the crowd to their feet with a rocking hour-long performance. Guests topped off the evening with complimentary massage therapy provided by Holisticare, Inc.
