Overlook Foundation - Sanofi-Aventis Takes Area Schoolchildren to Heart

Before more than 1,000 area schoolchildren visited this past spring, Foundation Trustee Vince Ursino, Community Health Manager Joyce Passen, and Dr. William Tansey first offered hospital employees a look at the giant inflatable heart specially designed for Overlook.

Constructed by a West Coast firm and funded through a grant from sanofi-aventis U.S., the walk-through heart was designed by the Overlook group, which also included Dr. Steven Sheris, and features age-appropriate instructional videos within its chambers.

“Cardiovascular disease remains one of the greatest health challenges today,” says Ann Isom, senior director of U.S. philanthropy for sanofi-aventis U.S. “Our company is committed to increasing awareness about ways to manage heart health and reduce risks for cardiovascular diseases.”
